Intensive Family Intervention (GA)



​Services Provided
An in-home assessment is initiated within 48 hours of referral. Intensive services providing 3 to 12 hours of contact per week, per family Ages 5-18 Services average 6 to 12 weeks of treatment; extension may be authorized up to 12 additional weeks(maximum 6 months total).


Active Treatment Focuses On: Reducing psychiatric symptoms Educational intervention aimed at understanding the course of psychiatric illness and prevention and management of the acute phases of the condition. Identifying families' behavioral assets and strengths. Providing family-centered services according to families' individualized needs: Referrals are accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Family therapy Individual therapy Therapeutic Behavioral Services Psychological assessments and evaluations Medication management and psychiatric evaluations Case Management Licensed therapist works with family 24 hour Emergency Response Communication skills Substance abuse counseling Anger Management Parenting education Crisis Treatment Life skills Coordinate with other community based resources Educational assessment and support Home finance management Appropriate clinical documentation in the care record: Screening for child at risk for out-of-home placement Maintain progress notes Family assessments Maintain individualized treatment plan Discharge planning Maintaining small caseloads (max 5 cases per counselor)
