Services Offered
MENTAL HEALTH SKILL BUILDING (MHSB)
New Pathways is esteemed to offer mental health services to older adolescents (at least 18 years of age) and adults (NOT older than 65 years of age) that suffer from mental illness and/or substance abuse. It is New Pathway's mission to provide services that meet individuals' needs. New Pathways will provide transitional support and stabilization services to clients returning to the community from a more restrictive environment. The goal of New Pathways is to provide the most stable, beneficial, and opportunity rich environment in which individuals can grow and develop into productive citizens in our society.

Each client will learn skills for:
  • Independent living
  • Interpersonal relationships
  • Use of community resources
  • Money management/budgeting
  • Accessing housing and benefits
  • Medication management

Clients will also learn to monitor their health, nutrition, and exercise. Our services will provide each client with the ability to function successfully in the community and any environment they encounter. Services will be provided in the home and/or community, and based on the clients specific needs.

CRISIS STABLIZATION
Crisis stabilization means direct, intensive intervention to individuals who are experiencing psychiatric or behavioral problems, or both, that jeopardize their current living situation. This service shall include temporary intensive services and supports that avert emergency psychiatric hospitalization, institutional placement, or out-of-home placement. This service shall be designed to stabilize recipients and strengthen the current living situations so that individuals can be maintained in the community during and beyond the crisis period. Crisis stabilization services are direct mental health care to non-hospitalized individuals (of all ages) experiencing an acute crisis of a psychiatric nature.

INTENSIVE IN-HOME COUNSELING
Intensive In-Home Services are home-based mental health services that are designed to meet each child and family’s unique needs through crisis management, intensive case management, counseling, family therapy, and skills training. It is a time limited service, which aims to provide youth and their families with assistance diffusing current crises, improving coping skills, and strengthening relationships. The primary goal of the service is to prevent out-of-home placement or provide transition services from out-of-home placement back into the home.

Intensive In-Home services are designed to provide assistance to parents with learning effective discipline techniques and parenting skills. Additionally, these services assist families in developing stronger relationships and communication skills. The purpose of the service is to help families solve problems within the context of their families rather than through placement outside of the home. Services are based on the belief that the family is the most powerful social institution and that families should be supported and maintained whenever possible.

Intensive In-Home services seek to develop, support, and empower the family unit by teaching problem-solving skills, assisting parents in becoming advocates for themselves, and coordination of available community resources. Intensive In-Home Services require complete family involvement and cooperation by all family members as well as the family’s dedication to the service for the most favorable outcome. Families must be willing to commit to the length and intensity of the service. The Intensive In-Home Service staff is available to families for crisis response 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT SERVICES 2.1

ASAM Level 2.1 Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured group treatment setting designed to provide education and support to those diagnosed with a substance use disorder. This program is designed for individuals 18 years and up and services are delivered 3 days a week for 3 hours per day. Individuals are assessed and an individual service plan is developed based on the needs of the individual to assist and support them in their goals for recovery. Throughout this program, individuals will learn about addiction, how addictive behaviors have long-reaching consequences, and how to bring about change in order to regain control over their addiction and their lives. Upon successful completion of the SAIOP program, individuals will transition to the lower level of services, ASAM 1.0 Individual Counseling, along with engaging in peer support services, to continue to strengthen their support for their long-term recovery, while becoming more independent in their recovery practices.
